Selank in the UK: Legal Status and Ordering

Selank has no UK licence

In the UK, Selank does not have medicinal approval. It is registered as a medicine in Russia, as nasal drops, but a Russian registration carries no weight with the MHRA.

No selank product has a license in the UK, meaning that no pharmacy can make it available for dispensing. There is no NHS listing, and there is consequently no official selank product available for prescription.

How the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 apply

According to the Human Medicines Regulations of 2012, a product is categorized depending on its specific use. If advertised as a treatment for a certain condition, including conditions relating to mental state, the product is considered a medicine, and licensing regulations apply to it.

The wording on a product page is crucial for this reason. A product listing that labels selank as a research compound is different from one that claims to be "therapeutic" or that is capable of providing calmness or good concentration. The MHRA investigation that was discussed in April 2026 targeted clinics making medical claims in relation to peptides that had not been approved, while most of the suppliers use "research only" tags.

As per the reporting, the enforcement so described is directed at sellers and clinics. We do not claim that selank cannot be bought and we do not ascertain that it can be used by humans. The above assertions are both wrong.

What "research use only" means on a UK order

An "in research only" label informs you of how the supplier might describe the product but little more than that. According to the MHRA, such labels do not make a product legal for human use nor do they imply it was manufactured according to the principles of good manufacturing practice.

In August 2026, the FDA in the US adopted a similar stance when it stated that these labels do not determine the issue and that it looks at the website as a whole, including disease situations and dosing information. This is a useful test for buyers in the UK as well: a seller who offers "for research only" products along with instructions for use is telling you how they want you to use the product.
